Head Eating Orcas, Ultra Snow Runner, Big Ben Barefoot Scale, Next Step To Unlocking Mammoths & More
March 9th 2025
Hello guys, we are back and we are smashing the month of March, I hope everyone is winning and smiling this week. Got some really interesting stories and changes in the world this week.
Let’s do this!!
01. Orcas Are Eating Only the Heads of Salmon, Scientists Are Baffled
A peculiar new behavior among orcas has scientists scratching their heads—literally. Off the coast of the Pacific Northwest, researchers have observed killer whales selectively eating only the heads of Chinook salmon, leaving the rest of the body untouched.
While orcas have long been known for their intelligent hunting techniques, this strange dietary choice has sparked curiosity. Some experts believe the whales may be targeting the heads for their higher fat and nutrient content, while others speculate it could be a learned behavior spreading among pods. As scientists investigate, this unusual dining habit adds another layer of mystery to the already complex lives of these apex predators.
02. Trump Posts Bizarre AI-Generated Gaza ‘Vision’
Donald Trump just dropped an AI-generated video of his “vision” for Gaza, and honestly, it’s wild. The clip features golden skyscrapers, bearded belly dancers, and even Israeli PM Netanyahu casually chilling on a sunbed.
Yep, you read that right. The video, posted on Trump’s Truth Social, paints a utopian fantasy of Gaza under new leadership—basically, a Las Vegas-style makeover. While his supporters saw it as a bold statement, critics called it tone-deaf and bizarre, especially given the real-life devastation in the region. Whether a PR stunt or a genuine pitch, one thing’s clear—Trump’s AI-fueled imagination is something else.
03. Scientists Create Mice with Woolly Mammoth-Like Fur
In a breakthrough that brings us one step closer to resurrecting the woolly mammoth, scientists have successfully genetically engineered mice to grow thick, shaggy fur similar to the extinct Ice Age giant.
By inserting mammoth genes related to hair growth into mouse DNA, researchers demonstrated how these ancient traits could be reactivated. This experiment is part of a larger effort to de-extinct the woolly mammoth and potentially reintroduce it to the Arctic tundra to combat climate change. While full mammoth cloning is still a distant goal, these fuzzy lab mice are an exciting glimpse into what the future of genetic engineering may hold. Like Look at him, how crazy is that!
04. I-Powered Robot Lawyers? UK Judge Says ‘Not Yet’
A UK judge has ruled that an AI-powered "robot lawyer" can’t represent a client in court, at least for now. The case involved DoNotPay, an AI legal service that wanted to argue a speeding ticket case using artificial intelligence.
But the judge shut it down, citing concerns over whether AI could properly follow court procedures. DoNotPay’s creator, Joshua Browder, argues that AI lawyers could make legal help cheaper and more accessible, but for now, the courts aren’t convinced. Looks like robo-lawyers will have to wait their turn before stepping into the courtroom.
What do you guys think?
05. Barefoot Protester Scales Big Ben, Holds Standoff for 16 Hours
London had a bizarre spectacle this weekend as a man scaled Big Ben’s Elizabeth Tower, clinging to a ledge while waving a Palestinian flag. Emergency services rushed to the scene early Saturday morning, but the protester refused to come down, forcing a 16-hour standoff that ended dramatically at midnight.
Crews used a cherry picker to bring him down safely, after lengthy negotiations involving a megaphone and a fire brigade ladder. The daring climb shut down Westminster Bridge, an Underground exit, and even Parliament tours. Police arrested the man once he touched the ground, and officials are now reviewing how this even happened.

06. Sidemen Charity Match Raises a Record-Breaking £4.7M
The Sidemen FC charity match at Wembley was pure madness—9-9 at full-time, a nail-biting penalty shootout, and a jaw-dropping £4.7 million raised for charities like BBC Children in Need.
The YouTube Allstars, captained by IShowSpeed, snatched the win against Miniminter’s Sidemen FC in front of 90,000 screaming fans, with 8 million more watching online. Star-studded appearances included MrBeast, surprise halftime performances from AJ Tracey and KSI, and goals flying in left and right.

07. Giant Iceberg Collides with Antarctic Island, Threatens Wildlife
A massive, like really massive iceberg. Nearly the size of Greater London! Has slammed into Antarctica’s Clarence Island, sparking fears for the island’s wildlife. The 380-square-mile iceberg, named A23a, had been drifting for decades before suddenly picking up speed last year.
Now, it’s lodged against the island, potentially cutting off access to the sea for seals and penguins that rely on open water for food. Scientists are closely watching to see if it moves again or stays stuck, but one thing’s for sure, nature just threw a giant, frozen roadblock into the Antarctic ecosystem.
How crazy to think something of this scope and size is just drifting around and going unnoticed for so long! It makes it put into perspective how large and vast our oceans are!
08. Youngest Ice Ultra Marathon Winner Says “Anyone Can Do It” After Brutal 230km Race
Running 230km through the Arctic Circle in -35°C sounds impossible, but Alex Welch just became the youngest winner of the Beyond the Ultimate Ice Ultra Marathon and he insists anyone can do it.
The 29-year-old from Cheshire battled waist-deep snow, frozen lakes, and a mountain climb so brutal he had to pull himself up with his arms. At one point, half his body went numb, and he imagined being airlifted out. But he pushed on, breaking the race into smaller mental goals. His biggest motivation? A promise to his late dog, Oscar, who supported him through years of running. Next up? A 250km race in Namibia. Absolute machine.
You are an inspiration Alex Welch!
